Day 30: Lincoln, NE - York, NE

Time: 4:17:11
Distance: 87.67km
Average Speed: 20.4km/h

Across from where we were staying were the Sunken Gardens so I had a walk around there before breakfast. We took our host Aaron's food advice and each got an enormous sandwich at a place called the Downtown Deli. A few miles outside Lincoln on the side of the highway a woman was standing beside a parked car holding out 2 bottles of water for us like you see at the Tour de France. We stopped and talked to Deb for a while and then headed onward towards York. Most of today was on pretty flat roads. Nebraska has been one of my favourite states to cycle in so far. The roads have a wide shoulder, there's not much traffic, the hills are infrequent and not too steep. I managed to get a number plate for my bike today which I found on the side of the road.
