On our way out of Elko we met Mitch (the man in the top hat on his way to burning man) outside the bike shop replacing his tires. We ate breakfast with him after in an all you can eat buffet. We cycled together for the day and the addition of a 3rd man to the group really gave us a lift as cycling through the desert can get very boring. After an hour David, who we stayed with last night passed us in his car on the way to work and stopped to talk for a while. Mitch spent most of the day educating us on the great times to be had at the burning man festival and it's now on my to-do list. It was almost dark when we arrived in Battle Mountain. We got a motel and went for food and beer up the street in a pub with 2 sleeping dogs.
