Day 47: Rest Day

On our final rest day Amanda drove us into town and dropped us off at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (The Mormon Church). Salt Lake City is home to the headquarters of the Mormon church and almost half the city is Mormon. We were greeted by 2 girls, 1 Brazilian and a Californian who offered us a free tour. The Mormon buildings were very impressive and the girls answered any questions we had about the Religion. In the end they kind of tried to convert us and offered to send the Book of Mormon to our houses. Ryan gave a fake address and I said I didn't have an address and was wandering across the USA. After the tour we ate and had a walk around downtown Salt Lake. We heard music in the distance and saw girls with bikini's running around so we decided to go see what was going on. It was a Sunday pool party where bikini's for the girls and waxed chests for the men were mandatory. I was tempted to whip off my t-shirt and display my farmer tan but I thought as the only 2 bearded men at the party we stuck out enough already. After the pool party we met Amanda and some of the Salt Lake couchsurfing community in the Bayou bar.
